

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the gardens and to meet new and interesting people. Whatever you talent, there is a volunteer opportunity available for you at Lakewold. The following lists just a few of the year-round volunteer activities that are available. Discovery Walks
On the third Wednesday of each month Katie Burki, Garden Manager will guide you
through seasonal changes in the garden. Katie will discuss new additions and
plans for the future. Feel free to join any or all of these walks.

Docent/Public Education
Learn about the rhododendrons along the Circle Drive. More information to
follow.

Become a fern enthusiast. Learn about the many different varieties, shapes, and
forms. Lakewold’s Fern Garden is the perfect space for this program. More
information to follow.

Rose and Cutting
Garden. More information to follow.
Grounds maintenance
Assist the Horticulture Team in accomplishing various grounds maintenance tasks, including fall bed cleanup, bulb planting, leaf removal, weeding, spreading mulch material, etc.
Docent
Learn to be a Lakewold tour guide! Meet people from all
over the world. Share the legacy of Eulalie Wagner, as well as the rich history
of Lakewold Gardens. Tours are approximately 2 hours long and occur primarily
during the months of April through September.
Special Events
Hostess for various fund raising events at Lakewold. Involves greeting,
coffee service, ticket taking, etc.
Volunteer Work
Parties
Held three times per year, these Saturday work
parties are great fun as 10-20 people work together to improve specific areas of
the gardens. Families welcome!
