Earth Day – Free Admissions + Memorial Tree Planting

To celebrate Earth Day this year we will be having a FREE Admissions Day! Lakewold will be open an hour earlier just on this special day, 10am – 5pm.
Memorial Tree Planting:
Join us at 10am for an Oak Tree Memorial Planting on-site with help from our friends at Musicworks4Vets and Bedlam Arts. There will be introductory remarks by staff from the Lewis Army Museum.
These fledgling memorial oaks are from mature trees that once lined the old highway 99 through the JLBM base. They were planted to commemorate fallen heroes. Due to the expansion of the road, many of the mature trees were removed. We will be having a planting ceremony of five fledglings from these memorial oaks at Lakewold this Earth Day and the public is free to attend.
