Winter Solstice Lights Preview

Be among the first to preview Winter Solstice Lights at Lakewold Gardens in Lakewood, Washington. Between November 19 and 28, mystical, mysterious lights will dance and play, bringing to life a monumental Douglas fir known as the Wolf Tree. Linked algorithmically to the superb vintage Steinway piano inside Lakewold’s Wagner House, light, music and soundscapes will flood the Trees in unison. This immersive art and technological experience is designed to create wonder in harmony with nature and to celebrate the magnificence of the great trees of Lakewold. The breathtaking lights and soundscapes include live piano performances between 6.00pm and 7.00pm, Friday – Sundays, and soundscapes generated from nature. Enjoy complimentary hot beverages and wine/beer. Activation One is a preview of the full Winter Solstice Lights Activations, which will light up the Gardens starting next November, 2022. The unique experience of Winter Solstice Lights is designed by renowned Seattle multi-media artist Sam Stubblefield.
