The winter gardens are crisp, clean, and mysteriously beautiful, quiet except for occasional bird song and the crunch of frost underfoot. They are the perfect place to reflect, meditate, and wonder at the regenerative power of nature. Lakewold’s partnership with Write253 is now in its second season. In keeping with Lakewold’s intent to reshape and recreate itself into a center for art, music, and nature, poets arrive to celebrate nature and self-expression. Through their poetry, these writers assert and embrace environmental justice, and articulate the challenges of climate change while exploring love, family dynamics, tragedy, and recovery. This year we bring you the Winter Garden Poetry Series virtually. Each poet chose a place in the garden from which to bring you vibrant, reflective, and perhaps challenging verses.
