The Language of Flowers
Carrie Schmitt is a local artist whose vibrant floral paintings celebrate Creativity as a sacred, healing force. After a life-changing diagnosis in 2009, she began painting as a therapeutic practice—an act that blossomed into a lifelong devotion to art as a spiritual path. Carrie's expressive, intuitive style invites viewers into a world of emotion, beauty, and transformation, where every brushstroke becomes a celebration of hope, resilience, and joy.
In addition to her studio work, Carrie is the author of "Painted Blossoms", "The Story of Every Flower", "A Flower in Her Heart", and the forthcoming "Awakening Creativity: A Sacred Journey to Reclaim Your Inner Artist". She also hosts the Awakening Creativity podcast and teaches online and in person retreats that explore art as a practice of deep inner nourishment and belonging. Her art has been featured in "Where Women Create", "In Her Studio", and "Spirituality & Health".
Carrie believes that to create is to heal—and that beauty, when shared, becomes a blessing. You might see Carrie driving around town in her hand-painted flower car, Poppy. She longs for a more colorful world that delights and awakens the Creative Spirit within each of us.
