What could be more delightful than a summer evening under the trees at Lakewold Gardens, savoring a glass of wine with friends while enjoying the music of MusicWorks4Veterans. John Selzer's band enhances the quality of life for military veterans by hosting inclusive jams and encouraging participation in the music-making process. Partygoers will hear from artist Charles Burt, a member of Bedlam Arts, a group for veterans that encourages mindfulness through painting and creative expression in a social environment. Spirited and beloved art auctioneer Laura Michalek will entertain and encourage us to bid on beautiful art pieces donated by local artists. The Gardens are for healing and joy: be there to support the Gardens you love.
Nothing is more beautiful than fall at Lakewold when the maple trees blaze their full autumnal glory. Join us for great wine and laughter with friends and family as twilight creeps across the Gardens. Listen to the brilliant and glorious piano playing of Joe Williams, founder and Artistic Director of Lakewold's Music from Home series. Hear from our Winter Garden Poetry partner, Write253 Director and poet Michael Haeflinger, as well as from talented Write253 youth poets. Local favorite auctioneer Laura Michalek will entertain and encourage us to bid on beautiful art donated by local artists to support Lakewold. The Gardens are for healing and joy: be there to support the Gardens you love.
WINTER SOLSTICE SOIRÉE
The Gardens are lovely in every season, so it is fitting that in the winter of 2021 Lakewold launches an annual celebration of ancient fire-and-light rituals. Winter Solstice Lights continues these mysterious traditions in an entirely new way. Holistically merging nature, art, and technology, multi-media artist Sam Stubblefield’s installation fills the garden with breathtaking sound and light. Enjoy great wine and refreshments, meet internationally renowned artist Sam Stubblefield, hear the evocative drumming of Javeon Bryd of Awodi Drumming—and even participate in the drum circle! Spirited and beloved art auctioneer Laura Michalek will entertain and encourage us to bid on beautiful pieces donated by local artists. The Gardens are for healing and joy: be there to support the Gardens you love.
